Great conversation! I love this idea of parallels between publishing and the service industry. I often think back on my work in restaurants as a teen and in my early twenties and how that experience really planted the seed for my interest in people and their stories. Restaurants are so full of characters! And lots of different kinds of people too—younger, older, people from different cultures and backgrounds… They’re very rich places that way.
