The thing about your posts is they’re so visceral. It’s so clear that you’re a fiction writer, because the way you describe your memories makes me feel like I’m thirteen again, perched on the living room couch two minutes before 7:30, when my favorite show’s new episode comes out. It’s you there. You, your sister, the country club, Tamar — you’re all the characters. I watch and I know you don’t know me, but I love these glimpses into your life. And it’s crazy how you do this, because I know you’re married now, and I know it’s in the past, just like when I was 13, I knew the Pretty Little Liars characters were fiction, but I sit here rooting for a love story with the pizza boy! Like it’s REAL! Like it hasn’t already happened. I don’t know if this makes any sense. I just wanna say how much I love these essays, and how excited I am for your book. I’m so glad I can read your fiction one day but still read your nonfiction here!

The shopping mall was an hour walk away from my friend’s home, and we would always make twice that time just talking and stopping everywhere in between. Its always about the journey just like your amazing ritual, and that little trip outside the shire.
